A Vioxx side effect that is normal to the medication and something considered that you shouldn’t worry about is dizziness. You might feel slightly dizzy, but it is normal. Other Vioxx side effects might include mild fatigue or weakness. You might rest or sleep a little bit more than you are normally prone to but this isn’t something to worry about. Diarrhea is another side effect to Vioxx that you shouldn’t have to worry about. With these side effects you can continue to take your medication and talk to your doctor if you experience these symptoms.

A dangerous Vioxx side effect that you should notify your doctor immediately would be difficulty breathing and closing of your throat. Your lips, tongue, or face might swell. You might even get hives. Stop taking the Vioxx immediately and call your physician. If you are experiencing abdominal pain and tenderness, nausea or heartburn, and if you notice you are vomiting blood you should cease taking the medication also. This could be serious and you should speak to your physician. Other Vioxx side effects that you should notify your physician immediately may be unexplained weight gain and swelling and water retention. If you notice a skin rash or you are itchy then you might want to talk to your doctor. You might notice jaundice symptoms that cause yellowing of your eyes and skin. You might have flu like symptoms. Another major Vioxx side effect that you should stop taking the medication right away and notify your physician is if you notice unusual bruising and or bleeding.
